Year Twelve Buddy Program

On Wednesday, March 4, the Year Twelve students commenced a Buddy Program with the Primary students. The outcome of this program is to provide a safe and inclusive environment for all students, one that embraces student relationships from the primary school to the secondary school and ensure that the charism of the Sisters of Mercy permeates our school in our relationships and support of each other. The Year Twelve Pastoral Care Groups buddied up with Year groups One, Three, Five and Six to participate in a variety of getting-to-know-you activities that included making paper planes and heading out for morning fitness. The Mercy College school values of compassion and service were alive in the positive interactions students had with each other.

The program also supports the SEW model in the promotion of willingness and wellbeing through the support levels that the students are providing to each other. The Year Twelves are looking forward to many more interactions with the primary students and are extremely grateful for the enthusiasm of the primary teachers who have embraced this initiative.
