National Reconciliation Week
Wednesday 26 May, 2021
Mercy College acknowledges the strength and resilience of our First Nations People.
On Tuesday as part of National Sorry Day primary students were encouraged to wear purple. The colour represents the purple hibiscus, a flower which symbolises resilience and survival of the Stolen Generation and purple denotes compassion and spiritual healing.
In 2021 the theme “more than a word” reminds us reconciliation takes action and urges the movement towards braver and more impactful action.
