Welcome to the Mercy College Parent Council.  A thriving school is built from an involved parent community and every parent with children attending Mercy College is a member of the Parent Council.  Within Mercy College, opportunities exist for all parents to model the spirit of service to others as an example to their children,

The Mercy College Parent Council has evolved since its days as a Parents & Friends’ Association and has seen great growth and change within our now diversified College since the amalgamation of the Mercy Primary School and the Secondary School in 2002

The Parent Council is no longer a fund raising body but obtains it’s funding through an annual family levy. The group's purpose is to develop good relationships within the College between staff and families and help with financial assistance of some of the social functions attended by our children, as well as with some capital growth initiatives where all students benefit as they move through the school system.  "The Parent Council Operational Guidelines" outlines the objectives and operations of the Council.

The Parent Council meets once a Term in the Mercy College Staff Room with all parents warmly welcome to attend.  The meeting is run by the Organising Committee who organize functions and discuss the allocation of funds to various activities which benefit our children.  The Committee is elected at the Parent Council AGM held in November.

• Sports Coaching and Management.

Parents interested in assisting further are encouraged to make contact with the Head of their child's Learning Centre.
 
Parent Council Information Evening:
There are two Parent Council run Information Evenings held in the Mercy College staffroom during Terms 1 and 2.  We endeavour to source speakers on topical issues of interest to parents.  It is a fantastic opportunity to meet parents in a relaxed, informal atmosphere where wine and food is served.

Parent Council Business Directory:
The Mercy College Parent Council produces a Business Directory with the intention of promoting family businesses within the College community, as well as those businesses that have supported the College in the past.  It has evolved into display advertisements since the first edition printed in 2006 and it has been designed to be placed on your refrigerator.  Please help support our college community by referring to it when you require those services advertised.
